Young Bicyclist Is Killed in Truck Accident

A youth was crushed to death Thursday afternoon when he rode his bicycle under a tractor-trailer rig that was turning onto Artesia Boulevard in Gardena.
Gardena Police Officer Dennis Salb said the youth, who was not immediately identified, was heading north in the right-hand lane of Normandie Avenue when the northbound truck turned right onto Artesia.
Salb said the truck driver was not cited.
