Hewlett-Packard Co. agreed to buy Trinagy Inc., a closely held software maker based in Torrance, to beef up its programs that help identify problems in corporate networks. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Trinagy, whose products let customers analyze the performance of their networks, will be added to Hewlett-Packard’s OpenView software unit.
Trinagy, founded in 1988, expects to become profitable this calendar year, Chief Executive David Woodall said. The company’s customers include AT&T; Corp. and British Telecommunications.
Shares of Palo Alto-based Hewlett-Packard fell 5 cents to close at $24.70 on the Big Board.
