LONG BEACH — Two teenagers remained in serious condition Monday after a weekend drive-by shooting, authorities said.
The 17-year-old boy and 18-year-old woman were in a group of 10 people standing outside an apartment in the 700 block of Gaviota Avenue when shots were fired about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Long Beach Police Sgt. Steve Filippini said.
A passenger stepped out of a blue or burgundy van that pulled up alongside the group and fired 10 to 15 rounds from an assault rifle, Filippini said.
Detectives remain unsure of a motive for the shooting but are investigating the possibility that it was gang-related, Filippini said.
