Ice Dogs Can’t Find Offense in Shutout Loss to Grizzlies

Brent Hughes scored the only goal of the game at 5:56 of the second period and goalie Scott LaGrand made 33 saves as the Utah Grizzlies shut out the Long Beach Ice Dogs, 1-0, Sunday.

Long Beach goalie Trevor Koenig stopped 20 of the Grizzlies’ 21 shots.

The loss leaves Long Beach (24-11-0) four points behind first-place Houston in the Southwest Division. The Grizzlies are third in the division, at 13-14-4.
