The Police Department recently received a $183,000 federal grant that will allow it to add mobile data terminals to all of its cruisers, City Manager Daniel Keen said. Federal community policing grants totaling $6 million were awarded to 11 California cities, mostly in Orange County, and they are often the only way small departments have to add new technology, Keen said. The police are also planning to use $4,500 from an earlier state grant to purchase video production equipment to help them make public access television presentations.
