The City Council on Tuesday denied a permit for a monthlong commercial event celebrating the Vietnamese Tet holiday because of traffic and parking concerns. Superior One Inc. of Westminster wanted to set up 24 food and flower vending booths at a vacant lot at Brookhurst Street and Bolsa Avenue from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15, but the council, on a 3-2 vote, turned it down because the site did not have parking and because of the event’s duration.
The council did, however, unanimously approve a three-day festival to be held at the Asian Village Mall on Bolsa Avenue.
