Holiday Closings

Friday is Christmas Day. The following schedules will be in effect:
* All city, county, state and federal offices will be closed. Many offices also will be closed--or close early--on Thursday, Christmas Eve. Call for information.
* County, state and federal courthouses will be closed.
* City and county libraries will be closed. The Santa Ana Central Library also will be closed Christmas Eve. All county libraries will close at 5 p.m. Christmas Eve.
* Banks and savings and loans will be closed. Many will close early on Christmas Eve.
* Schools: Orange County public schools, including year-round schools, are closed for winter break, as are UC Irvine, Chapman University, Cal State Fullerton and all community colleges.
* Mail: There will be no mail delivery. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.
* Trash: There will be no trash collection. Garbage will be picked up on Saturday instead.
* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a holiday schedule. Buses will run less frequently and many routes will not be operating at all. ACCESS handicapped service will be available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. only.
* Metrolink: Trains will not run.
* Parks: All city- and county-run parks and recreation facilities will be open during regular hours.
