A 14-year-old Wheaton, Md., boy who underwent an unprecedented three quadruple transplants is home after nine months in the hospital, where he was at the center of a national debate over who is entitled to scarce donor organs. Some ethicists questioned allotting 12 organs to Danny Canal when nearly 12,000 people are waiting for livers. His surgeon, Dr. Andres Tzakis, said the issue highlights the need for more organ donors.
