Jason Arnott scored two goals and linemates Petr Sykora and Patrik Elias added three assists apiece to lead the New Jersey Devils to a 6-3 victory over the New York Rangers on Wednesday night at East Rutherford, N.J.
Jay Pandolfo also had two goals and Sheldon Souray and Bobby Holik each scored once as the Devils used a three-goal second period to extend their season-high unbeaten streak to 6-0-2.
Toronto 5, Phoenix 2--Igor Korolev scored twice during a four-goal outburst in the second period at Toronto as the Maple Leafs handed the Coyotes only their fourth loss.
Florida 4, Pittsburgh 1--Ray Whitney and Bill Lindsay scored third-period goals to lift the Panthers at Sunrise, Fla.
Detroit 5, Boston 3--Nick Lidstrom and Larry Murphy continued to give the Red Wings outstanding offense from the blue line, each scoring goals at Detroit.
Murphy (23 points) and Lidstrom (19) are among the league scoring leaders for defensemen.
