The city recently approved more than $2 million for the seismic retrofitting of street bridges. The Highway Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitation fund was recently approved by the City Council. In a related action, the council entered into an engineering agreement with W. Koo and Associates Inc. for $380,000 to handle the project. Bridges scheduled to be retrofitted include those at: 1st Street, 5th Street and McFadden Avenue over the Santa Ana River. Caltrans will fund the projects’ design and construction phases.
