Students at Niguel Hills Middle School spent the last two weeks collecting loose change from other junior high students and held bake sales at lunch to raise money to buy holiday gifts for 24 needy families in the city.
St. Timothy’s Church is also participating by donating 16 Christmas trees and stands to the families, who were classified as needy by the Orange County Department of Mental Health, school officials said.
