In a preliminary step that will lead to improvements in the Lantern Village district and the city’s center, city engineers will meet with consultants today to discuss possible solutions to parking and traffic problems, said Bob Warren, director of Public Works/Engineering Services.
Over the next several months, the city will receive proposals from consultants vying to do a study on the area. After the City Council selects a proposal, details of the project will be worked out. Work will not start for at least a year and will probably be done in phases because of the cost and extent of the improvements, Warren said.
