The City Council on Monday authorized a study to look at the need for a youth center and what kinds of programs it would entail. Officials plan to work with the Youth Center in Los Alamitos to create a facility in Old Town that would provide activities and a gathering place for Seal Beach teens.
Under the proposal, the teen center would be in a classroom at the Under the Rainbow day care center on 12th Street; it would be sublet on an interim basis from 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The study is expected to be completed by the council’s Jan. 25 meeting.
