Ron Jon Surf Shop Is Bustling

With all of this moving and shaking going on around it, Orange County’s newest surf wear

store, Ron Jon Surf Shop, has settled into its first West Coast site at the Block in Orange. Since it opened last month, a mechanical people counter has been keeping track of how many visitors have stopped by the shop. And the Florida-based company said Monday it is happy with the numbers.

“All in all, we’ve been very pleased with the results so far,” said Bill Bieberbach, vice president of corporate development. “I’d say we’ve had close to 80,000 people who have visited the store since we opened [Nov.] 19th.”

The Christmas shopping season has helped, marketing director Heather Lewis said.

“Starting end of last week and this weekend, sales have really picked up a lot,” Lewis said. “You can rally feel the holiday sales starting to kick in.”
