‘Star Trek: Insurrection’ Melts ‘Jack Frost’

Paramount Pictures’ “Star Trek: Insurrection” grossed $22.1 million to take first place at the weekend box office, while the Warner Bros. holiday film “Jack Frost” had a chillier reception with $7.1 million.
Paramount’s “A Simple Plan,” a drama about greed, debuted in limited release with $390,563 in ticket sales.
