Israeli Planes Raid Targets in Lebanon

NABATIYEH, Lebanon — Israeli planes raided suspected guerrilla targets in southern Lebanon on Saturday, a security source and the Israeli army said.
The source said two warplanes fired two rockets on Iqlim el Toufah, a pro-Iranian Hezbollah stronghold north of Israel’s Lebanese occupation zone.
The strike raised to 108 the number of Israeli raids on Lebanon since the start of 1998 and came just before the three-day visit to the region by President Clinton.
An Israeli army statement released in Jerusalem confirmed the strike and said the pilots reported accurate hits and that all planes had returned safely to base.
There were no immediate reports of casualties in the attack, which followed night flights by Israeli planes on Wednesday and Thursday over Beirut and other cities.
