Today: The House Judiciary Committee will vote on the final article of impeachment. Committee members will begin debating Democratic censure resolution.
Tuesday: The committee will vote on the censure resolution if a vote has not already been taken.
Wednesday: An impeachment report will be made available for review by House members. The Republican Conference and the Democratic Caucus may meet in the afternoon to brief their members.
Thursday: The full House will begin debating the matter of impeachment.
Thursday or Friday: The full House will vote on the articles of impeachment.
January: If the House approves an article of impeachment, a trial would begin after the Senate convenes in January.
The Congressional Process
Impeachment is a legislative action brought against a government official who has been accused of misconduct or criminal offense.
Step 1: House of Representatives
The House can impeach a federal government official by a majority vote.
Republican: 228

Step 2: Senate
The impeached official then goes on trial in the Senate. If two-thirds (67 votes) of the Senate finds the official guilty, he or she is removed from office.
