An 18-year-old woman was raped Thursday night near a parking lot in the 6100 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Los Angeles police said.
The woman was walking through the area about 8:30 p.m. when a man accosted her, forcing her against a low wall concealed by bushes.
The victim described her attacker as a Latino, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was wearing jeans, a green flannel shirt and white tennis shoes.
Capt. Greg Meyer of LAPD’s North Hollywood station said the rape, which was the first such assault in North Hollywood at least two months, was unrelated to other incidents. “We have very, very few stranger rapes in this part of town,” Meyer said.
The woman was treated at a local hospital, where she underwent tests that could help to identify her attacker, police said.
