A citizens committee concerned about the state of the city’s trees will ask the City Council on Monday to boost its budget a bit.
The Parkway Tree Committee has been studying the city’s trees for nearly eight months and now wants to hire a well-known arborist to help draft a master plan for trees, which would identify every tree, draft replacement schedules and generally ensure that the city remains green.
The group would need $2,547 added to its original budget of $8,250 to complete the work, representatives said. The council meets at 7 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 3191 Katella Ave. Information: (562) 431-3538.
