The Police Department has designed a new firing range it says will put its officers on the cutting edge in training. “We’ll have the most state-of-the-art firing range in the United States,” Police Capt. Robert Mosley said.
The facility, planned for an industrial area at Ellis Avenue and Euclid Street, will have 40 firing positions, a paint ball facility for training in hostage situations, seven sniper training positions and an outdoor obstacle course. It will be used by not only city officers but also Orange County SWAT teams and state and federal agencies.
