PLACENTIA

From a high school physics class on toys to a third-grade class project on space travel, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Foundation honored creativity in the classroom at Tuesday’s school board meeting.

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Foundation, made up of parents and businesses, awarded $200 to $1,000 grants to 18 teachers whose project proposals promoted innovation and imagination, said foundation President Jan Wagner. “We find that these awards do far more than provide a dollar amount,” Wagner said. “They bring creativity into the classroom and allow teachers and students to share the experience.”

The privately funded foundation has awarded grants to individuals and schools since 1994.
