Artist Gets Commission for U.S. Open Golf Tourney

Camarillo resident Noble Powell III has been commissioned by Pinehurst Resort & Country Club of Pinehurst, N. C., to create a painting of Pinehurst No. 2, site of next summer’s U. S. Open golf championship.
Powell and his publisher, Cypress Classics, have been asked to design a poster and limited-edition lithograph from the painting to commemorate the event.
Cypress Classics, owned by former Oxnard resident Bob Westervelt, is the exclusive representative for Powell.
Powell’s artwork has included paintings of Pinehurst No. 8, Augusta National, Cypress Point, Riviera Country Club and licensed works of Pebble Beach and the Links at Spanish Bay.
