GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 5 STANFORD (4-1) vs. No. 2 MARYLAND (8-0)
At Washington
* When: Sunday. Time: 10 a.m. TV: Channel 7.
* Story line: Stanford would have been the favorite at the start of the season coming off its Final Four appearance, but Maryland is a hot and confident team after its showing in Puerto Rico. Guard Steve Francis, a junior college transfer, teams with Laron Profit and Terrell Stokes to give the Terrapins the sort of aggressive, high-scoring guards who can give Stanford trouble, and center Obinna Ekezie is a daunting inside presence.
