Brea Olinda (11-1) vs. Lakewood Mayfair (9-3)

7:30 TONIGHT CERRITOS GAHR HIGH
Brea Olinda Coach Jon Looney expects a high-scoring game because Mayfair, under Coach Mike Fitch, a former Brethren Christian assistant, likes to put the ball in the air. The Monsoons make use of 22 offensive sets. “They played [top-seeded and unbeaten] La Mirada to a 21-18 game, their closest game,” Looney said. “Mayfair had a shot at beating them.” Brea’s Deonta Birdsong, Ron Benigno and Matt Winkler have combined for 51 receptions and 12 touchdowns. A key may be the Wildcats’ offensive line, which is bigger than Mayfair’s line in its 5-3 defensive alignment.
