When Mater Dei and Los Alamitos meet it’s usually in a high-stakes game and this one is no exception--the winner returns to Edison Field next Saturday for the Division I final against Long Beach Poly, a 38-12 winner over La Puente Bishop Amat in Friday’s semifinal. Third-seeded Mater Dei must slow the Griffins’ passing attack, keep the score close and take over in the fourth quarter. Los Alamitos, seeded second, must match muscle and will with the Monarchs for 48 minutes. The game figures to be closer than Mater Dei’s 40-23 victory last year. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports West 2.
