Villa Park’s only grocery store reopened Wednesday following eight weeks of renovations to turn Ralphs into a new supermarket dubbed “Fresh Fare.” City officials attended a preview of the store’s new format Tuesday.
Renovations to the 30,000-square-foot store, built in 1971, include new interior decor and a facade. Added services include floral designers and in-store chefs, Ralphs Grocery Co. officials said.
Meanwhile, a Villa Park resident expressed concerns to the City Council last week that Ralphs’ new services could hurt small merchants, such as the flower shop and pharmacy, located in the same shopping center.
