Local businesses are joining with the city to throw a Christmas bash that will last all weekend. Residents and shoppers in Old Towne Plaza on Saturday can expect strolling Dickens carolers, holiday treats, breakfast with Santa and special events for children from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Sunday, festivities in Old Towne start at 2:30 p.m. with crafts booths, a return of the photogenic Santa and a caroling hayride. At 5:30 p.m., a candlelight choir with 350 singers will be accompanied by a 40-piece orchestra for the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree, the finale of the weekend.
Events start at Chapman Avenue and Glassell Street in Old Towne and spill into the side streets.
