Celebrities, Performers to Appear at Downtown ‘Tree of Life & Festival of Lights’ Event Today

In what is being billed as “a holiday happening that would put New York’s Rockefeller Center to shame,” singers Al Jarreau, Bill Medley and Graham Nash will be among those performing at a free “Tree of Life & Festival of Lights” ceremony today at 5:30 p.m. at the California Watercourt Plaza, 350 S. Grand Ave., downtown.
Other scheduled performers include the L.A. Opera, City of Angels Ballet, Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz and the Radio City Rockettes.
Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Robert Hays, Billy Dee Williams and a “celebrity Santa” are also set to take part.
