It Was a Dog’s Life, Now It’s a ‘Bug’s’

Disney/Pixar’s “A Bug’s Life” became the industry’s top-grossing film released over the Thanksgiving holiday with a five-day tally of $45.7 million. The film outpaced the previous record-holder, Disney’s live-action film “101 Dalmatians,” which collected $45.1 million during its 1996 Thanksgiving opening.

Meanwhile, Universal’s big-budget sequel “Babe: Pig in the City” opened dismally with only $8.2 million in ticket sales. The studio chief, Casey Silver, resigned on Monday.
