As stupid as this year’s halftime show was (Indiana Jones and the Search for the Charger Defense?), it still beat Michael Jackson’s crotch-grabbing performance at Super Bowl XXVII . . .

1 minute 50 seconds. It was way overproduced, but better than Regis could do. Not as good as Barbra, though. . . .
The stupidest promo was ABC selling its news magazine show that discloses that, yes, men and women are different. No kidding. . . .
Bud beat Bud Lite in Bud Bowl 7, XXVI-XXIV. . . .
One bettor in Las Vegas plunked down $2.4 million, more than twice the largest sports wager, on San Francisco to win $300,000. He bet on the money line, at 8-1, rather than on the point spread, so the anxiety of losing probably lasted, oh, about 83 seconds. . . .
