Orange County’s Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Thursday to consider an Irvine Co. plan that would update plans for 96 homes and 454 condominiums and apartments, replacing it with a proposal that would provide for 245 homes.
The site is the Irvine Coast development, on the west side of Newport Coast Drive between Pelican Hill Road and North Pelican Hill Road.
The development is on county-controlled land between Newport Beach and Laguna Beach, and between Coast Highway and the planned San Joaquin Transportation Corridor.
The hearing begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Orange County Hall of Administration, 10 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana.
The county Subdivision Committee is scheduled to consider the same change at a public hearing Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Environmental Management Agency, 300 N. Flower St., Room 503, Santa Ana.
Written responses to the plan are requested. For more information about the hearings, call planning spokesman Bill Melton at (714) 834-2541 or the Environmental Management Agency at (714) 834-2081.
