The Pacific Symphony Institute Orchestra will premiere “1975,” a symphonic suite by local Vietnamese American composer Khoa Le, on June 3 at 3 p.m. at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. The free performance is being funded by Project 20, a committee of Vietnamese Americans in the county coordinating cultural activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first wave of Vietnamese refugees’ arrival in the United States. Edward Cumming will conduct the student orchestra, which is based at Cal State Fullerton. Mahler’s Symphony No. 1, “Titan,” also will be played. (714) 755-5799.
