WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Cold-Shooting USC Trounced by Stanford

Anita Kaplan scored 19 points, all in the first half, as No. 4 Stanford crushed No. 20 USC, 109-53, Saturday night in Palo Alto.
The Cardinal, 16-1 overall and 7-0 in the Pacific 10, won its 14th consecutive game. The 56-point margin of victory was its largest ever in a league game.
The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Trojans (11-5, 4-4).
USC shot a feeble 25.9% for the game and was held to only three points in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

California 97, UCLA 84--The Bears (7-9, 2-5) got a game-high 28 points from Eliza Sokolowska and 19 from Jackie Lear as they routed the Bruins (7-10, 10-6) in Berkeley.
The Bruins were led by Kisa Hughes who scored 21 points and had a game-high 13 rebounds.
