CSUN’s Opening Game at UC Riverside Canceled

The Cal State Northridge baseball team’s season-opener that was scheduled for today at UC Riverside has been canceled because of wet grounds.
Northridge instead will open at Matador Field on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Riverside, ranked eighth in NCAA Division II by Baseball America.
Riverside sought to secure another site for the opener--including a former Class-A stadium in Palm Springs--but was unsuccessful.
The teams also are scheduled to play at Northridge on Sunday at noon.
