HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Grant’s Bucciarelli Scores Seven Goals in a 19-1 Rout

Senior Nicole Bucciarelli scored a season-high seven goals to lead the Grant High girls’ soccer team to a 19-1 rout of Sherman Oaks CES in a Mid-Valley/North Conference match Thursday at Sherman Oaks CES.
Bucciarelli has a City Section-leading 31 goals in 14 matches for the Lancers (11-3, 7-0).
Grant allowed its first goal in seven conference matches.
Birmingham 1, Belmont 0--Gina Della-Galla scored a second-half goal and goalie Liliana Cruz had nine saves for the Braves (3-3-4, 3-3-1) in a Mid-Valley/North Conference match at Birmingham.
Notre Dame 2, Harvard-Westlake 1--Harvard-Westlake led, 1-0, on a goal by Jessica Post before Sarah Morgan tied the score two minutes before halftime. Melissa Rubey scored the game-winner with 10 minutes left on an indirect kick that goalie Debby Klowden deflected in. The Knights (12-2, 4-0 in Mission League play) are ranked 10th in Division II.
BOYS
St. Francis 3, Alemany 0--Shunta Shimizu scored two goals for the Golden Knights (12-2-1, 6-0 in Mission League play), the ninth-ranked team in Division III. Eric Johnson scored his 10th goal.
Burbank 4, Hart 2--Senior Marcos Issa scored two goals for the Bulldogs (5-7-4, 1-3-3) in a Foothill League match at Hart.
Loyola 3, Chaminade 2--Ryan Saunders and Reza Zamani scored for the Eagles (6-8-2, 1-5) in a Mission League match at Chaminade.
