A Santa Ana man accused of killing his girlfriend’s 18-month-old daughter was ordered Thursday to stand trial for murder at the conclusion of a preliminary hearing in Municipal Court in Santa Ana.
Celerino Albarran Ochoa, 18, is charged in the death on Oct. 14 of Carina Ramirez, the daughter of Maria Delgado, 22. He will be arraigned in Superior Court on Feb. 17.
Ochoa had been living with the Delgados for about a month when the child suffered critical trauma to the head at her Santa Ana home, authorities said.
Ochoa, the girl and Delgado’s 4-year-old son were playing in the living room when the daughter was injured, authorities said. She died the next day at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center.
