Books: Borders Store Found Elevating
As a bibliophile, I was delighted to read about the flourishing Borders Books and Music Store (“A Boundless Emporium,” Jan. 12.) It is reassuring to know that the humanities are here to stay, regardless of the advances in the information superhighway in this age of mechanization. Borders faces competition from several movie houses in the area and yet browsers and music lovers seem to saunter over to the newly created bookstore. Its many attractions include an aura where you can curl up with a good book or participate in conversation of your choice or even soar to your heart’s content. For as Emily Dickinson assured us: “There is no Frigate like a Book to take us Lands away . . . “
