Chevron Chemical to Shut 2 Plants: The unit of Chevron Corp. will close its nitric acid and fertilizer plants in Richmond, Calif., by the end of July as the company continues to leave the agricultural chemical business. Qualified employees will be offered jobs at Chevron’s Richmond, Va., refinery. The rest of the plants’ roughly 60 workers will be transferred to other Chevron operations. Chevron Chemical Co.’s remaining Richmond operations are not affected by the move.
