THOUSAND OAKS : Officials to Predict Economic Future
- Share via
Thousand Oaks business owners, government officials and college professors will dust off their crystal balls Thursday and forecast the coming year’s economy.
A forum sponsored by local groups will feature 19 speakers discussing last year’s business climate and predicting the course the economy will take this year, said Merv Kopp, a Thousand Oaks planning commissioner and Rotary Club member who helped organize the event.
“We got tired of reading economic forecasts and listening to experts,” Kopp said. “This is local businesses talking about the economy. This is more down to Earth.”
Charles Maxey, dean of Cal Lutheran University’s business school, will also give his local economic forecast.
The forum is scheduled from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Cal Lutheran’s Preus-Brandt Forum. For information, call the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce at 499-1993.
