The Fox Hills Mall is holding its annual African American Artists’ Celebration Thursday through Sunday.
The juried multimedia fine arts show will display more than 1,000 works of 60 black artists throughout the United States. This year’s featured artist is Nathaniel Buston of Los Angeles.
Opening ceremonies, which start at noon, feature a performance by the First AME Church choir. The concert kicks off GospelFest, a celebration of gospel music that will showcase local groups at the mall during the February observance of Black History Month.
Proceeds go to the Fox Hills Mall Minority Scholarship Fund to benefit a local school.
The mall is at Slauson Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard.
