WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Thompson Leads USC Over Arizona

Forward Tina Thompson scored 18 points Thursday night to lead the 24th-ranked USC women’s basketball team to an 85-54 victory over Arizona before 688 at the Lyon Center.
The Trojans, 9-4 overall and 2-3 in the Pacific 10 Conference, made 56.4% of their shots; Arizona (7-9, 2-2) made 30.8%.
UCLA 85, Arizona State 64--The Bruins (7-7, 2-3) made 73.3% of their shots in the first half to build a 48-25 halftime lead and rolled over the Sun Devils (7-6, 1-3) before 212 at Pauley Pavilion.
