Mission Viejo Beats Mater Dei

Chris Jones scored two goals in Mission Viejo’s 5-0 upset of No. 6 Mater Dei in South Coast League boys’ soccer Wednesday at Mater Dei. Mission Viejo took a 2-0 halftime lead and went on to the easy victory.

Eric Pfieffer, Ron Davis and Mark Fiore each added a goal for the Diablos (5-2-4, 1-2-1). Goalkeeper Mark Keller had six saves for Mission Viejo. Paul Gerdis had five saves for Mater Dei (10-4-1, 2-1).
