COSTA MESA : Occupational Training Courses Begin Jan. 30

The Coastline Regional Occupation Program will offer a number of occupational training courses for adults and teen-agers when its spring semester begins Jan. 30.
The courses include animal health care, auto body and automotive repair, banking, computer graphics and design, cosmetology, word processing and more.
The Coastline ROP is part of five school districts: Huntington Union High, Irvine, Newport-Mesa, Saddleback Valley and Tustin Unified. Enrollment is open to high school students 16 and older and adults who live within those school districts.
The primary purpose of the ROP is to provide occupational training programs above and beyond what is already available in schools.
The programs are based in local businesses and industries and on local high school campuses. They are taught by credentialed instructors from various trades.
Most programs last 18 weeks, and students receive credit toward high school graduation.
Adult registration will be Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Coastline ROP office, 1001 Presidio Square, Costa Mesa.
