Satellite Technology to Outfit Peru Phone System

Satellite Technology Management Inc. said Tuesday that it received a contract to provide a telecommunications network for the Compania Peruana de Telefonos, the national phone company of Peru.
The Irvine-based company did not reveal the terms of the contract.
The network will give Peruvian customers in remote locations phone and fax capabilities. Satellite Technology Management was awarded the contract through Telefonica Sistemas de Satelites, the Spanish government phone company that owns a majority interest in the Compania Peruana de Telefonos.
Shares of Satellite Technology Management stock closed at $14 on Tuesday, up $1.25 from its close on Monday in Nasdaq trading.
