Edison, Senior
Soccer/Goalkeeper
With sweeper Michael Dena out because of a pinched nerve, one might think Edison’s defense would be vulnerable. That was far from the case last week. Outside fullback Ryan Fial has stepped in as sweeper and Shay has been turning back every shot. Shay had four saves in a 1-0 victory over then-No. 2 Fountain Valley and five in a 2-0 victory over then-No. 3 Los Alamitos. Against the Griffins, Shay had saves on three consecutive corner kicks late in the game to preserve his seventh shutout of the season.
