IRVINE — Graphix Zone Inc. has entered into a joint venture with the Improv comedy clubs to develop CD-ROMs.
The Irvine-based software developer said the two are already hard at work on their first educational title but refused to give details.
Graphix Zone said it hopes to capitalize on the Improv’s name recognition to fuel sales of the entertaining but educational programs. The Improv runs 17 comedy clubs around the nation, including one in Irvine, and produces a syndicated television show called “An Evening at the Improv.”
Graphix Zone has created, and is best known for, its interactive rock CD-ROMs, including one featuring the artist formerly known as Prince and an upcoming Bob Dylan disc.
