5 Medtronic Pacemakers Approved: The Minneapolis-based medical device maker said the Food and Drug Administration has cleared five of its Thera pacemakers for sale in the United States. The pacemakers were introduced in Europe early last year and have since been put to use in Japan and Canada. Medtronic said a sixth Thera pacemaker is still being evaluated for U.S. use.
