Siemens Solar Industries, based in Camarillo, has increased its production capacity by nearly 50% to meet increased worldwide demand for its solar products.
The company has invested $3 million to upgrade its plant, the company says. Siemens, a unit of Germany’s giant Siemens AG electronics concern, doesn’t disclose its revenues, but says the market for its photovoltaic products grew by more than 20% in 1994.
Among other improvements at the Camarillo plant, Siemens has added automated equipment and has created a “flo-line” for laminating and joining its solar cells.
