Litton Industries Inc., the Woodland Hills-based aerospace and defense company, said it has won a $739-million contract from the U.S. Navy to build two Aegis guided missile destroyers.
Litton said its Ingalls Shipbuilding division will build the destroyers, the second and third ships Ingalls will build as part of a two-year plan announced by the Navy in July. The contract brings Ingalls’ business backlog to $3.5 billion, including orders for the construction of 14 destroyers, amphibious assault ships and corvettes.
