Beginning today, a 2 1/2-mile stretch of Topanga Canyon Boulevard will be closed for storm repairs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., forcing many canyon and Malibu coast residents into lengthy detours to reach Downtown Los Angeles or the San Fernando Valley.
The closure will last 20 days, Caltrans spokesman Russell Snyder said. It will extend from two miles north of the boulevard’s southern end at Pacific Coast Highway, to Grand View Drive.
The road will be restricted to one lane between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., with access limited to residents of the area.
